Rugby - Nbm 7's Premier League

The 7s Premier League (known as the NBM 7s Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is an annual rugby union sevens competition in South Africa. It is organised by the South Western Districts Rugby Union and is contested in December at Outeniqua Park, George and is an attempt to emulate the Indian Premier League cricket tournament.

The 2012 7s Premier League — the first edition of this tournament — will be held on 14 and 15 December 2012. Some players' participation has already been confirmed, such as Quade Cooper, Brent Russell, Shane Williams and Sonny Bill Williams.

The event will be sponsored by NBM Group and prize money of R1,000,000 will be up for grabs for the winning team. The Blitzbokke manager Paul Treu will also be able to nominate 30 players to will be included in various teams in this competition.
With a million Rand for the winning team and another million to a skilled and lucky fan, you just can’t miss the inaugural NBM 7s Premier League international rugby tournament in George, South Africa, on 14 and 15 December 2012.

Twelve star-studded teams – 7 commercial and the South African Super teams – will play 48 spectacular world class games in this world first, IRB-endorsed, tournament that will see the winners walk away with R1-million. A randomly picked spectator can also win R1-million in a goal kicking competition.

Some of the world’s best current and past seven’s and 15-format players will run onto the field for their teams, offering spectators a unique opportunity to see top class rugby in an intimate and stunning setting.
